Structure.

By Admin Rhino - Posted on 01 November 2008

Many of you are perhaps wondering about structure. When it comes to play structure, there are no right answers... For me, the most helpful way to learn about structure has been to read as many plays in as many different genres as possible.

However if you don't have time to do that and need to get started quickly..

...Look at The Playwriting Seminars to get you thinking about structure.

Playwrights, please add your links, tips and questions about structure here !

That looks pretty cool. I think it would be unwise for me to paly around with it until December though. No distractions!

I have had a lot of fun learning to use  the story-structuring tools of Dramatica.  They have a software, but have essentially posted all the components of it online for free.

Of course, now in the weeds of creation would not be the best time to venture into something new for anyone for whom it would be new, but it's fascinating for a different way of looking at structuring a story.
