November 30

By solarcirclegirl - Posted on 30 November 2011

Very approp advice from Elizabeth:

Write like a Motherfucker.

Sometimes swearing is needed.

And do know that no matter what, you all won. You know why? You all dedicated yourself to this quest and you are still in it. Even if you didn't get the page count done, you cultivated a habit, hopefully made some connections, and are still writing.

There's still most of a day left. You would be amazed at how you can build Rome in a day in your writing!

Congratulations Lea! You finished! You won! I'm so you could particpate in Naplwrimo this year.

Writing with the TV on. Yah. I like to have the noise level up and sometimes I keep it on for company. It's also fun just to have the images without sound and then use your own music.

Celebrate and treat yourself.

Happy writing!

Finally! It's been 3 years of November-test-writings and finally I could make it on page 75. It was the craziest final running, since I had some scenes written by hand, had to type them all in to see real count of pages. And had to type them while running with last minutes, really.
Even though I won, I still have a lot of mess going around pages, including some problems of structure and grammar - sort of editing problems. I wanted to end it for today and not worry with my "little details". Also, I'm one of those writers, whose first drafts just tend to be... very chaotic. So I'm not able to publish it on the site, just yet. I wonder, if there is any time-limit for publishing it... But I did win the pages limit, didn't I (it sort of feels unbelievable, because in so many points of the month I was almost in giving up). And it's wonderful feeling that I won! YAY!

But gongrats for everyone, really proud of you, guys!

Okay, finished play and uploaded it. Thanks for the ride. I learned that I actually like to write with the TV on--who would have thunk it? It may keep me from thinking too much.

But I don't think we'll be able to see it until everyone has uploaded and I can actually archive the plays.

In the past, we've paid a drupal designer to update our site and this year I figured out how to do it myself. Once everyone has published I'll need to make a couple of changes to the code and then all of the plays (if the writer wants), synopses, etc will be public. Stay tuned.

I'd love to have people read my script and let me know their thoughts, questions, reactions, problems, whatever! Feedback
Is always welcome.

Thanks!
Andy

Hey Andy: Would you like your script to be public on the site? It's not mandatory. Some people are fine with having it up on the site, some people are not. It's your choice.

Congratulations again!

Hey there. I tried to upload my script yesterday and am not sure I was successful. Can someone let me know if I did it right? I'm concerned because the directions say you won't see your play when you upload it, so there's no telling whether it's there or if it is off floating through the internet, lost and lonely. Let me know.
Thanks!
Andy

November has been so crazy here in Boston. It started off preceded by a Halloween weekend snowstorm and is ending with unseasonably warm temperatures in the 60s. November, you are broken.

My month has been similarly crazy. I'm sad that I didn't get my play done. Nowhere near done. But I submitted other plays to a few places and wrote two little one-minute plays. And I went to a yoga center, stepped up my time at the gym, and just two nights ago learned how to knit and started making a scarf. I need to keep writing. This play is getting done. DONE.

Bring on December... a month of most likely colder weather, second acts, and holiday craziness.
