Here it is, we are down to the final four days! What's new, everyone? How is the writing going?

Last night, we were awake, so we went to a Thanksgiving Day sale. It was the craziest thing I've ever seen. As I was watching people get excited and then go completely nuts when the clock struck 10, I was saddened. It's too bad people couldn't get this kind of passion into their artistic life that they get into grabbing baby dolls for a dollar or board games for 50 cents. If even five minutes of the excitement I saw over these sales was funnelled into the arts, can you imagine?

Well, I know you guys have the passion. WRITE ON!

You're almost there

Yep. It's spaghetti for dinner time at our place tonight too. Last night it was take home pizza. It was a break from eating mostly turkey and pecan pie for the past two days.

You're closer to the finish line temporally than I am over here in the US (I still have 4 days. Ha! Still.) and you have only a few more pages to write. I'm in the back 40, but I'm not giving up.

It's amazing how the time pressure acts as a compressor and forces certain choices or defines exactly how we'll proceed with the time ahead of us.

I'm excited to hear how the next few days go for you!

Creative choices

I love how this whole thing is forcing me to make creative choices in my life as well as the play itself - like choosing to spend my evening writing instead of zonking out in front of rubbish TV, and choosing to write instead of cook a decent meal for the kids - well that one maybe not so much, but a few more days of spaghetti and sauce won't kill them!
The clock says only 2 days and something hours to go. My document says only a few more pages to go. So I'm choosing to finish this play.

I was going by the countdown clock on the main page and didn't look at the hours. This was written in the wee hours of the morning and I was not awake (ie no coffee yet).

That's 5 days!

Okay, so I'm starting to freak out. I have 48 pages (12 today!) but 27 more pages to go before next Wednesday at midnight. Fingers crossed I make the finish line.
