I think I did pretty well, considering I started out with nothing but a bunch of blank paper.
Steve Martin
...star and co-writer of "Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid"

And that is why I love Steve Martin. We're all starting out with blank paper and we're all gonna do pretty well! So how have we been doing today with our blank paper? Pretty well I hope!

I'm really not sure at this point if any of the pages I've written so far are keepers but at least I've started and the vague ideas about characters and plot points are starting to sharpen. I'll keep going (only not tomorrow as I am busy all day with travel and family stuff). Hope everyone else is being productive and feeling good.

I'm on page 4. I have a sick baby, a busy husband, and a stressful job. Three of these items are a priorty, one of them is not.  Can you guess which one I'd like to let go?  Can you guess which one always gets let go?  Sometimes its hard to give myself the time to write when I am stressed out.  Last night I fell asleep pumping breastmilk and my husband didn't even notice.  Oh well, on to page 5.

Got my three (or slightly less than three) pages done for the night. I kind of stopped midscene because (1) I'm getting tired and (2) I felt like my two characters were doing a lot of arguing back and forth and maybe the argument was going nowhere. No raising of stakes and such.

I'm a little worried that in the end all of this work will just end up as prewriting that I needed to get done to sort of work out the characters' thoughts on what's going on and also work out how they talk to each other. I just don't really know right now what events need to happen in this play. Stupid plots always getting in the way of things. ;)
