Ephebophilia by Dusty Wilson

By DustyWilson - Posted on 31 October 2008

Jackson and Imogen Maddox are a young couple in dire financial straights. Jackson is unemployed, Imogen is working as much as she can, and their home is twenty-four hours away from foreclosure.

This is the reason Kyle Bryant is coming over. Kyle expects to see Jennifer Hoyne, a girl he met online. A girl he believes is only fifteen. A girl he thinks is home alone.

Jackson and Imogen lie in wait for their only hope to save their home.

Your play sounds really fascinating - I can't wait to read it!

Due to this last week being a 73 hour work week, I am only 5 pages in. I am still going though and definitely hoping for the best.

I have personal experience of fighting the bank almost to the death for my house -- and my burying them in paperwork DID delay our removal by about a year. UNFORTUNATELY when the chips were down, even though the judge seemed to want to honor my request to make the three day notice to quit (get out or the sheriff will remove you) a thirty day notice to quit, he found no legal basis on which to do so and our moving day was thus the day before I was induced into labor with gestational diabetes for our youngest, Bryan, now five.

The good news was, we had some money (which the mortgage company would not accept in partial payment of our arrearage) and could afford movers -- the Keystone Cops. So I entered the hospital as the neighbor to my best friend and a beautiful, tree-lined neighborhood and left with a new baby and boxes and chaos in an equally large house in the slum of the city where we then lived, which had such an outlandish layout that the baby's crib ended up in a sunroom/laundry room to the back.

So, while I only did things marginally illegal to try to keep our beautiful 1920 four-bedroom foursquare with oak floors and trim (sob!) I can identify with the desperation that would take someone to even greater measures.

This reminds me of  fabulous short play I saw about some people who set themselves up as estate agents and murdered all their clients. yay!

Yeah, I've been waiting for about a month to finally get started writing this thing. Here's hoping it turns out alright. Its actually my first ever attempt to write a full length with only three characters.
