Sunday Check in #4 AND FINAL ZOMG THERE'S TWO DAYS LEFT November 28th

By solarcirclegirl - Posted on 28 November 2010

We're getting down to the final 48 hours. I know at the beginning I NEVER think this day will get here, and then I hope it will never get here, and then it's finally here and I'm like AIEEEEE! So much to do so little time.

And you're in good company:

"Although writing has been my job for several years now, I still have to fight for time in which to do it." J K Rowling

Today I have a message and a question.

First, the question: WHERE ARE YOU IN YOUR PLAY?

Second, the message: WRITE WRITE WRITE!

Carry on!

I'm sorry that the weekly check-ins have been a problem. Is there something that can be done on our part to make it easier? I know it works better if you meet people in person, and you can always check to see if there are other people in your area (ya know, for next year) that you might be able to get together with.

Aside from being the forums mod and forced to be on here, I would be on here a lot anyway, because I am very much one of those people who spends a lot of time on the internet. If you are not one of those people, it can be hard.

Next year, I am hoping we can do more virtual write-ins--it's an idea I thought of a bit too late this year to have more than one. Would that be something that might help you?

I am glad you are finished! Congrats!

So the weekly check-ins have been a problem for me. I've experienced this same lag before on an online class. I don't remember to do it for the most part. Hoping to join a local playwright's forum to hopefully spur on the need to commune. Pages done. By Saturday morning it was 28. By Sat. night it was 40. Sunday was a big push, but done! Formatting and spell checking today. I can't even express how helpful it is for a person like me to have a deadline. Thanks Rhinos.

I will look later and find the post from last year about uploading your play to the site and putting together a winner's page! GREAT JOB!

I know you will make it too! And your excitement is contagious!

that's what National PlayREwriting month is going to be for! Just keep going right now and we will see you again in a couple months. Trust me, my play makes no sense when the characters suddenly morph from being of spanish descent to speaking in latinese and being Roman!

I am glad that both you and Tulip Mama are getting enjoyment out of this, but KEEP GOING! You can still make it. :)

You can do it! Just keep going!

Two days ahead of schedule. I put all the act and scene divisions in. Stick a fork in it and call it done! I'm happy with it...I might not be in a few days but now I'm happy with it. Whew! 76 pages in a month! Wow! I didn't think I could do it.

Woohoo! I'm on page 46! Such a progress from last sunday. I'm believe I should be done by tonight or early tomorrow. I'm really excited to read through my play and turn it in! Yes yes yes!

I'm on page 48! Glad I'm not the only one who has 25-plus more pages to go. Plotting? Who has time for plotting???!!! It's all I can do to get some garbage on the page.

Now at about page 47, which is low, but feels close enough to make it. I'm with Tulip Mania - even if I don't finish, this has been great - I'm really enjoying writing this play!

Hello, Rhinos.
For this fourth weekly check-in i'm at 60 pages. I'm not sure I will complete my play in time, but I must confess I don't worry a lot about it, I'm enjoying myself too much plotting then writing it!
