Day 2: Tuesday, November 2
You do have a leash, as a writer. You're holding a dog. The great excitement is to see what happens if you let the whole thing go. And the dog or the character really runs about, bites everyone in sight, jumps up trees, falls into lakes, gets wet, and you let that happen. That's the excitement of writing plays.

How has day #2 been treating you? Did your play run up a tree?

...real soon, Punter! Hang in there.
A ship in the harbor is safe, but that's not what ships are for.
Yesterday was a blowout. A bug that (I will spare you the squeamish details, but) combined the worst elements of a strong curry and a hangover and unfortunately none of the pleasures of either.
Still on 0.

I managed to write 6 pages this afternoon. The plan is to get another scene done before I go to bed. My play is about a woman who turns into a tree so, yeah, I've got the thing treed alright.
And I voted.
But I haven't had dinner yet.
Go Rhino, go !
I was so excited to see you back, Dean!
Go Rhino, go !
Hi Dean!
I'm so glad you're back!
I think in all the excitement of changing hands, we forgot to email all the old users and remind them that Naplwrimo was coming up again...
I hope you have a great month!
I'm several pages of notes in, and only 3 pages of play. However, considering that only days ago I was simply turning the idea of my play over in my head with no idea how to get started, this is an accomplishment. I'm off to knock out tonight's portion now.
and stuff is getting written. That's what's important. It's good to have friends like that!
I had set this up as a way to complete the second act of a WIP, but a flurry of emails today has set me on another path, even as a Rebel Rhino. It seems an actor friend would like to submit a piece to a studio series, and she asked if she could use some of my work to perform. Duh-YES! So I've written an additional page to raise the stakes on a 10 minute piece that I felt was a little light for a series of this type.

20 pages is amazing for the first two days! I am impressed. :)
I am at about 20 pages, which is three short scenes. As it's a play for young people, there is a large cast but that's okay.
I have notes to keep track of who's who!

You're about twice as far as me, and since I will be packing and cleaning toinght for my trip tomorrow, I doubt I will get much writing done. Write some for me!
Thanks to Amy for reminding me that it was November once again. I posted my synopsis on the starting line and wrote about 10-12 pages or so today. A lot of it is notes really and only about 9-10 pages are dialogue.
Much love,
Dean
