Day 28: Saturday November 28, 2009

By solarcirclegirl - Posted on 27 November 2009

Buckle up, Buttercup! There's 48 hours left! Got those writing cramps yet? Is your brain fried? Have you decided you'll sleep when you're dead?

No matter where you end up in the next 48 hours, what matters is you committed yourself to this project. We all want to cross the finish line. And we all will. Some of us (like me) might be short about 35 pages, but the play will be as long as the play needs to be.

And don't forget to let us know how your LAST SATURDAY OF NAPLWRIMO 2009 went!

Well, just at the moment I think I'm going to press on. I feel that I've still got lots of ideas and changes and additions to make, so whie they are fresh I'm going to try to get them down.

I'm even contemplating progressing straight into editing it. But in truth, until I try reading it from start to finish I won't know whether I need a break or not.

77 pages and the play is done. I'll shape if I have time, but I am officially over the line.

.....As of today. And that's it for me. It's a collection of short plays rather than one single work, which I know doesn't technically count. But that's what I needed to work on. And still - 108 pages in 28 days. Damn. That's it for me, I'm off to celebrate!

Standing/slouching/fetal positioned in the same line. How long will you walk away from this effort before going back to revise?

I've hit that state where I'm so tired I stop fighting the flow of words. Makes it a bit easier to write somehow, being tired. Next week I'll find out if it makes it easier to write well.
