Day 14: November 2009
We're almost to the halfway point, Rhinos. I know some of you are suffering from the Panics and the Whatnows and the Ihaventstartedyets. It's okay. What matters is the moment you have now. So take a moment on the 14th to tell us where you are!
I know the feels of the Panics and the Whatnows. I was there a week ago. I just did some thinking and I waited it out. And another almost 11 pages fell out. So it can happen. Sometimes it needs time.
Go Rhinos!

I knew it had to be something simple, but since someone else asked about it, i thought i would. doi, next time i will look around a bit more. :)
I think you have to select "threaded list" in the view and save, then it shows nested comments I believe...
Go Rhino, go !
i noticed that too. i was thinking maybe it was just something wierd with the window i was using. I will check and get back about it.
Lucky!
This is @cessgil. Am I missing how to nest commments?
My laptop will dump files in progress in a temp file, but the temp files are hidden. I have to go in and "show hidden files" and then I see all the stuff that looked like it wasn't there before. I have no idea if this is anywhere close to your issue, but it's a chance.
A ship in the harbor is safe, but that's not what ships are for.
I just now figured out who you are!! Hello!
A ship in the harbor is safe, but that's not what ships are for.
Day 14 -- I keep writing but it's crap and I have no idea where it's going. Wasted time retyping 6 pages because MS Word corrupted my file. Wrote 6 more pages today. Hopefully will write more on Sunday.
Samus--I'm so sorry! That really stinks when you can't find what you wrote.
Are you sure it didn't get saved somewhere strange with a different name? What software do you use?
I'm sorry about your tech issues. I'm sending good vibes your way!
go upload your play and pat yourself on the back! You won!
Please stick around, if you can, and keep cheering on your fellow Rhinos. :)
No topic for day 15 yet? Ah well, it was still Saturday when I stopped writing.
I have 78 pages. I'm confused. I'm not sure where the last about seven pages came from. Anyway, it's done. It's probably the worst anything I ever wrote, but my goal was to write a play, not to write a good play.
Back to the ever-fascinating world of essaywriting...
Good news: On page 45
Bad news: 3 more scenes until the end of Act I.
Looks like a 20 minute final act for me. It worked for Thorton Wilder!
I got in about a page and a half last night, very proud of that, as it allowed me to move on to my next scene. I wasn't certain how to get out of the situation I'd set up, but it presented itself to me organically.
Now, I wake up and open my scriptwriting software, only to find that my changes were lost somehow. I don't know where my work's gone, but I'll have to rewrite that chunk and hope I can remember how I managed it.
Tech issues piss me off more than anything else.
I kind of skipped sideways...it worked. I got a reasonably coherent scene out of it.
Sometimes one has to write the last scene and then go back and work towards it [aha I shall make sure the cardinal is mentioned early in scene 3 so it's not so much of a shock when...] or foreshadow it.
A husband and wife, having a fight about the kids.
then it's all about context.
Oh and adjusting to my keyboard's peculiar problems with weirdo keys..in Word.
Today I will be using my play as breaks from my Statistics homework. At least until my head explodes.
A ship in the harbor is safe, but that's not what ships are for.
Sometimes a happy accident of skipping ahead is that I discover I didn't need all the crap that I was trying to write in between.
sometimes that's the best thing to do. I started that way on 'In the Bunker'. Then i stalled at 10 pages, but eventually I was able to break through to 20 pages, because i skipped around. sometimes the play is like the lake that you skip the stone of the scenes you know. Other scenes come out eventually.
Ah sweet panic. Eight pages today. Skipping around, writing the scenes I know I can write.
