Day 13: November 13 do you suffer from paraskevidekatriaphobia?

By solarcirclegirl - Posted on 12 November 2009

Don't be afraid of Friday the 13th. Make it the best Friday the 13th ever! Write, write, write!

That's a good round number. Good for you! and your bed head! :)

Woke up early this morning to write because I didn't write last night.   Feel very artistic and genius with my hair sticking straight up.  So far I've written 30 pages, and struggling to not reveal too much of the mystery, lest it all unravel in a few pages, not the 75 we're shooting for.  This is the most unorganized mystery ever--by trying to keep moving forward, I hope I haven't taken too much liberty with the passage of time, left giant plot holes, etc.

Joan--

the above link will keep you looking at the most recent posts. I'll keep posting the daily check-ins as we go. I usually post them the night before the day (tonight, I will post tomorrow's) because I usually go to bed pretty early. Just make sure you're posting on the right day! :)

Yay, 21 pages! Go you!

Don't forget to change your page number count on your profile page. :)

Punter--

I think this might be made up, but that's the fear of long words. phobialist.com/#A-

Ironically, a long word.

Letting go is such a HUGE part of writing and many other theatre arts. When I was in Illinois/Iowa still a couple years ago, I was training in improv at Comedy Sportz. Letting go and being able to just go with the other players and trust them that they will help you look good, that's the heart of improv. And I'm a control freak when it comes to my work, so you can understand why I don't do improv anymore. It's hard for me to trust.

However, it did teach me to let go enough to trust my characters and my play.

And thank you for the new word, my New Zealand (but not Austrailian, although the word refers to Austrailans as well) friend! :)

I think if nothing else, I will have expanded my vocabulary considerably by the end of the month. I'm not sure I can pronounce your para...phoia. Is there a phobia of long words?

Well, I've written another 3 pages today. Which combined with some thinking about my play, thanks to my antipodean (weak effort to extend solarcirclegirl's vocab) colleague leaves me feeling quite well satisfied, and looking forward to the weekend.

Happy writing, Rhinos!

ahhhh THESE are the places where people are checking in!

I'm feeling surprisingly good so far. I have a whopping 21 pages so far, but I am lucky in that for this first draft I am doing a lot of transcription, which makes generating massive amounts of pages easier. Good thing, cause I was kind of a slacker last week.

But yeah, I'm feeling good. My only worries right now are 1. is it going to be *too* long? is that even possible for me? (I always underwrite, not over!) and 2. Is it even going to be interesting to an audience? really?
