Day 9: November 9

By solarcirclegirl - Posted on 08 November 2009

Welcome to Week #2 everyone! If you haven't yet, please read februarystar27's amazing blog post about Week #2. http://www.naplwrimo.org/blog/172 as well as our Rhino Burst #2, which is fabulous.  If this doesn't energize you, nothing will. Maybe coffee, but read this first. It's pretty great.

Looking forward to seeing what happens today for you. I wish you wonderful vibes and broken legs. :)

Ah, have spent a couple of days unable to access Naplwrimo because a) I forgot my password (because I am a doos...pronounced...um...Marcio? any ideas how to explain this? Doers comes closest I think) and b) my internet has been dodgy to say the least. I have felt so cut off from my dear fellow writers, and have just spent half an hour reading all your character quiz comments and getting so very very inspired. Yee ha! Spending tomorrow and thursday on airplanes so hopefully will get some good writing time in. I'm reaching that stage where I love my play so much I'm afraid I'll mess it up :-) I love that stage.

at how long you stayed in! Girl, you got so much going on! I can't believe you were working on it as long as you were!

It is good to know your limits, and I think you went beyond them.

Wow. That rocks! And Dan, you rock too, ha ha.

I hate to say it as I'm really sad, but I'm out. I can keep the site running and I can keep cheering you all on, but I'm not even going to do the rebel play. I'm burnt out and exhausted and school is just ramping up toward the end of the semester. It ain't gonna happen. I dream of they day when I write a play again. Just. Not. This. Year. :(

The time for action is now. It's never too late to do something.

Word after word after word I keep chugging along. I'm a little worried as I don't have a plan of attack for tomorrow. Hmmm, think I'll review my notes after I finish writing this!

Still on page 11. Will probably be there until Wednesday evening. Congrats to all who have moved forward! And to those who haven't been able to for whatever reason--don't despair. It will happen!

I saved a major candybar scene for today and did six pages. Plus, I didn't refer to jello even once! It seems that something is starting to happen. It's all coming together somehow.

Now to celebrate the Mauerfall anniversary!

That's terrific, Punter!  How exciting...

I moved rocks after my last writing session. That isn't a metaphor.

There's a retaining wall on my in-laws' property that needs to be buttressed. So I spent the afternoon clearing brush (not just for ex-presidents anymore), dusting dirt off the wall with an old paintbrush (seems persnickety, but soil contamination decreases the integrity of cement), and collecting rocks large and small for the buttress.

After that, writing is easy. Four pages or bust!

For the first time in ages, I experienced that miraculous coming together that you get when your writing deviates from where you think it ought to go, and you follow it until suddenly you realise this is much better than anything you could have thought up. And you know that there must be a god/muse/(insert power greater than yourself).

And all is right with the world.
