Hi all! This is not a title so much as a concept. I served on a playreading committee for a theater recently and got so sick of all the mystery/thrillers being English manor types. In a fit of pique, I shouted to myself, I'm going to write a Wild West Noir!
Um, so here I am.

So this is a Wild West murder mystery right? Except for all the Greek mythology that has appeared in the dialogue. Hm. Turning out to be a little different than I expected. Can't wait to see what happens...and I'm writing it!!

Frankly, I don't believe I do.
I love bits that give me a chuckle as the writer because I know how much is going on behind those words. It's something that helps the "keep going" process, because I can't wait to reveal more. "See? See what's coming up? See what I did there?"

Getting started is always such fun. Setting up the, well, set, introducing characters...introducing the gun (knowing it must be used by the end!) First day was 4.5 pages, which is good, but considering it's Nov. 3, I'd like to get just a little more ahead of the game. Better to be a little ahead and have some wiggle room if something comes up to take up all my time. (Which it will!)
Doing a little research on revenge in mythology and in Shakespeare. I think my old coot may know a little about the subject....
