92 pages (though i started with 15).

i'm not going to upload and all that, since i'm not totally legit, having worked on a play i had already started. but i wrote 75+ pages inNovember and busted out a draft of a play i'd been stuck on for a long time.

yay me! (and yay everyone else, too!)

The truth is, there are words now written that would not have existed at all without YOU!  Ideas developed, characters born and re-born, the world tilted this way and and that, and not a jot of it would have occurred without YOU!

If you wrote anything from two pages to fifty - amazing!  YOU WROTE!  In spite of the job that pays the bills, the family that creates the bills, the other clamouring projects and people, the pets that power-shedded on your computer, the children that still needed to be fed and taken to school, academic distractions, that gawdawful fickle MUSE, you managed to WRITE.

Glory in it, my rhinos, because there is so much in our lives that conspires against us in a faceless plethora of obligations big and small...it is a victory each time a word is typed out, each time an idea is scribbled on the back of an envelope.

You did beautifully and you are all stars!

And if it set you up to say, hey, I can DO this MORE often, then you have the best prize there is- the knowledge that YOUR writing is unique and valuable even to YOU.

I am in awe of you!
I too haven't quite made it this year.  Thank you to those who have posted stories similar to mine, you have made me feel a lot better!  Life, the thing that happens when you're making other plans, got in the way!  But over the past month I tested a lot of ideas and I experimented with a few things which have given me a far better idea of the script I eventually will finish, and now have a much more solid platform to build on, and so for that I am grateful- thank you NaPlWriMo!  And thank you to those who have offered encouragement and kind words of support, it meant so much to me!

Just look at Doug Wright's "I Am My Own Wife!"  There are loads and loads and loads of characters in there and it's a solo show!

Because I have an outline and 12 solid pages that I didn't have one month ago, and considering all the other scripts I've tried to write, year after year, that's big progress for me.

It won't happen for me either this year.

Grad school won this time. Next year, I'll have to figure out a better system so I can do this *and* grad school at the same time...

I'm at 48 after not touching it for a couple of days. I don't know if I'll make it 75 tomorrow- who can say? But i feel like the play might end before 75. is that cheating? I don't know. we shall see.

I say: If one person performs it, it's a solo show, no matter how many characters you trot out on stage. Go for it. Solo schizophrenia.

After computer problems and illness I decided I could not win NaPlWriMo. So I went back to my play, The Feast of Jovi Bono. I was at 12 pages on that one and am now at 29. I made it to page 41 of Brigid Kildare's Steelworks. SO...if I'd added the 17 pages to Brigid instead of Jovi, I would have made it to a respectable 56 and could conceivably have won at the end. I thought of having the cast of "Brigid' go to a performance of "Jovi" then wrap it up with the last few pages, but that would be cheating, wouldn't it?

Ah well, congratulations to all the winners. I'll be back next year!
