Day Ten.
Anybody?
My bosses are all in Boston for a conference so I'm going to sneakily write at work (and take a two hour lunch as well).

as a young paralegal in my twenties, I wrote my two Writer's Digest Honorable Mention literary short stories as well as the one that one the STORY magazine competition and the semi finalist in a Paris Review contest. Funny, once I got out of the paralegal profession I did not write any more short stories.

It's because it's the only place you can sit down and be by yourself in front of the computer and tippety tap away and if you're lucky, the screen faces away from the prying eyes of your co-workers. They probably think you're doing extra work to suck up.
Go Team!

OK...All I got done yesterday was character description page, scene listing, title page...but today...
Today, call the police because I am stealing so much time from work. I've been here a little over 2 hours, and have FOUR new pages of play done! I still have several hours until *work* is done. I should get a lot done today. (at least I hope so)
It helps that the boss didn't show up today. It also helps that my characters are awake and all I have to do is write what I hear them saying.
It's okay... you're not behind ! :)
I know the prop 8 thing is really getting at people...
You're doing such a fabulous job, I agree with Elizabeth. Feel better !
Go Rhino, go !
I think i wrote 2 or 3 pages today accidentally. Ha.
Go Rhino, go !
I have the beginning now. I was driving along and it suddenly occurred to me what needed to happen. So, I scrapped the sucky one - it was close but not quite right. I have been feeling achy all day- I'm coming down with something.
Josh, hope you're feeling better. You have been doing such a great job keeping up with all of the postings and check-ins, etc. And working and writing a play. I really can't imagine - well of course I can, but it makes my head hurt.
Cheers,
E-
For the first day (barring election day) I did not write.

I got some writing done (on the play) as well as some other projects. Keep on keepin' on!

Wow ! Cool!!! Maybe we should make a solo show forum topic so we can explore in there... Ask me questions on the forum I posted !
Go Rhino, go !
With my other play, The Feast of Jovi Bono. I was already on page 25 of that one when Rhino started so I put it aside to start the second play in the series. But every time I hear a violin play or see a chef or a table beautifully set for dinner, or hear about a fugitive or rugby or medical cheese sculpting or slam poetry, I long for Jovi Bono and I made the mistake of playing the Jovi Bono You Tube Playlist while writing Brigid Kildare and I couldn't take it anymore.
I've spent most of the morning working on a new scene for The Feast of Jovi Bono and listening to rock violin and I LOVE it. I LOVE it. I LOVE to be bad. YES! YES! YES!
Ahem.
I'll be back tomorrow. If Brigid will have me.

...because I spend so much time with it. However, it doesn't smell much like food, unless I've been eating cheezies.
I've tightened up my pages but now it's THE WALL. I have to put some action in here, to make sure we get the full 3D of the characters, but ugh, at the moment they're all sitting around staring at each other, waiting for someone to start something....
hmph!
Maybe I'll try the Coldplay trick.

I'm at about ten pages. Some pages are portions of interview that need to be turned into script dialogue. I've decided that the play is actually a one-woman show, which is causing me some confusion in how to proceed. So, I'm in the journey with you, Dorothy! One woman show... How does this beast move and breathe?
